Welcome to FinMaxx. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using FinMaxx, you agree to these Terms.
Summary: Use FinMaxx responsibly for personal financial tracking. Don't misuse the service. We're not financial advisors. You can delete your account anytime.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using FinMaxx, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Service.
2. Description of Service
FinMaxx provides:
- Net worth tracking and calculation
- Wealth percentile comparisons based on age and income demographics
- Financial account aggregation via Plaid
- Progress tracking over time
FinMaxx is a financial tracking tool, not a financial advisor. We do not provide investment advice, tax advice, or financial planning services.
3. Account Registration
To use FinMaxx, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Create an account using Sign in with Apple
- Provide accurate information about your age and financial situation
- Keep your account credentials secure
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use automated systems to access the Service
- Share your account with others
- Provide false or misleading information
5. Financial Data
Bank Connections: When you connect your bank accounts via Plaid, you authorize us to retrieve your financial information as described in our Privacy Policy. We never store your bank login credentials.
Manual Entry: You may also enter financial information manually. You are responsible for the accuracy of any data you provide.
Percentile Calculations: Our wealth percentile calculations are estimates based on publicly available demographic data. They are for informational purposes only and should not be used as the basis for financial decisions.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by FinMaxx and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.
7. Third-Party Services
FinMaxx integrates with third-party services including:
- Plaid: For financial account connections, subject to Plaid's terms
- Apple: For authentication via Sign in with Apple
Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Financial data will be completely accurate or up-to-date
- Percentile calculations will be perfectly precise
- The Service will meet your specific requirements
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FINMAXX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Damages resulting from your reliance on the Service
- Decisions made based on percentile calculations or other information
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FinMaxx from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
By You: You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to the Service or other users.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated Terms on this page
- Updating the "Last updated" date
- Sending an in-app notification for significant changes
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
